What materials are the frames made out of?

Our frames are made out of BPA free polycarbonate. This compound is extremely resilient, flexible and comfortable - making our frames ideal for outdoor activities. You won't believe how much you can flex them! This material can be recycled post-consumer and then re-processed into new polycarbonate products. This approach helps the brand remain on the path to sustainability by reducing waste, using less energy and reducing emissions while offering a product that is widely used and needed outdoors. hikrs belong on the trails, not in landfills!

What materials are the lenses made out of?

All hikrs sunglasses have TAC polarized lenses that block 100% of UVA and UVB rays. They are laboratory tested by our manufacturer in compliance with all US regulations including shatter resistance standards. Our TAC or Triacetate Cellulose lenses are layered with a protective coating (scratch resistant and anti-saltwater treatment), UV400 protection and the TAC material resulting in a lightweight and very durable lens. This makes them perfect for those sweaty days on the trail especially since sunglasses are prone to scratches and vulnerable to salt, sweat and sunscreen. We even ran over them multiple times with the truck just to be sure!

By combining style, sustainability, durability and affordability, hikrs is more than just eyewear - we embody a commitment to the outdoors and a love for adventure.

Our sunglasses have two screws that could expose you to metal. This metal (nickel) is known to the State of California to cause cancer.
